Another successful Double Century for the ATC and Embark Teams. Our thanks to the Swellendam community for hosting us. We stayed at the SwelleN2 Lodge, Noah’s Ark and seven private homes in Swellendam central. Our teams finished as follows:
This traditional run from Green Market Square to the top of each of the three famous peaks above the City, Devil’s Peak, Maclear’s Beacon and Lion’s Head, is about 50 Kms long. Runners return to Green Market Square after summiting each peak, before setting off for the next one.

The wind was a major player at this year’s Slanghoek Triathlon but at least it made for somewhat cooler conditions.

Green Point
The Gun Run doubled up as the ATC Club Champs for the Half-Marathon distance. Congratulations to Ian Metcalfe (1:21) and Alexandra Antonakis (1:31), who were the first ATC’ers across the line and are our half-marathon champs!
As announced in our newsletter, dated 9 September 2019, our Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 10 October 2019, at 19:00, at the Green Point Cricket Club.
The primary topic for discussion will be the proposed new Constitution to enable us to register ATC Multisport as a not for profit voluntary association for public benefit.
Due to renovations taking place at Kraalbaai in the West Coast National Park, the Westcoast Warmwater Weekend was postponed from March this year and also moved to a venue outside the Park. This allowed athletes to race through the park during flower season. A great experience!

Cape Town
The Cape Town Marathon doubled up as the ATC Club Champs for the Marathon distance. Congratulations to Mark Hankin and Daneil Feldmann who were the first ATC’ers across the line and are our marathon champs! A reminder that to be eligible for the Club Championships, runners must be licensed through ATC Running and run in the ATC vest.

Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championships, 7 to 8 September 2019, Nice, France.
ITU Long Distance Duathlon World Championships, 8 September 2019, Zofingen Switzerland.
