Half Ironman 70.3 Entrants – Canal this Friday – Ironman Training

On Sunday is the Half Ironman 70.3 in East London and for many Triathletes the main event of the year.  Well over 270 ATC’ers and Embarkers will constitute almost 10% of the field this year and we wish everyone safe travels this week and a great event!  The list of ATC Members participating, along with their race numbers, can be downloaded from the lonk below.  Please let us know if your name isn’t there so we can update our records.
You can SMS your athlete’s race number to 39408 to track their progress on race day.  The service is available on all South African mobile networks and costs R15.00 per race number that you want to track.  Please note: ONLY SMS the Race Number and SMS only the race number.
If you still need gear for the event, please come along to the Oceana Boat Club this evening (see below) or let us know and we can bring something through to East London for you.  If you have applied for a Triathlon License but have not received your TSA Number yet, please let us know ASAP.

Next Tuesday (27 Jan) Embark will have their orientation evening for the Full Ironman program commencing the following week.  It is a nine week endurance based program, specifically designed for to give you a great Ironman experience.  If you have entered for Ironman Port Elizabeth, feel free to come down and listen what it’s all about.  Orientation will start after the track session, at around 19:00.

Congratulations to all the members who finished the Red Hill Marathon and Classic on Sunday and welcome to all the new members we spotted along the route in ATC Running kit.  It’s a tough one to pick as Two Oceans / Comrades qualifier but worth the pain.
At the Dirtopia Resolution Trail Run Kate Lewin was 2nd in the 12 Km run with Nicola Van Wyk in 3rd.
The ATC Development boys had a great start to the Spur Cape Summer Trail Series in the Tygerberg Nature Reserve when Dawood Goeiman won the Junior category (2nd overall), Daniel Arendse won the Minimee category and Bruzano Britz followed in 2nd.
Over the holidays Andrew Le Roux sneaked in a win at the Sabrina 10 Km Trail run Plettenberg Bay.
