Shargus – 70.3 Durban Training – Sports Practitioners

If you are going to do a bike race on a highway, the M3, now known as the “Shargus”, must be the best place to do it!  It is challenging and hilly, has a real tail wind as payback for the headwind, and a smooth surface.  Perfect for the bike leg of a triathlon, actually.  Let’s hope Chappies is open for next year’s Cape Town Cycle Tour because Hospital Bend is a lot steeper after Ou Kaapse Weg.  So this year’s “Argus” was certainly the shortest ever but it boasts the highest number of finishers (31963) ever!  Judging by how packed the beer tent was from early on in the day, a new record was probably set there too.
Sports Practitioners take note!
We often get requests from members who are looking for sport practitioners (Biokineticists, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Nutritionists, Dieticians, Sports Masseurs, etc.) in a particular area or with a particular skill.  Likewise, we often get requests from practitioners to mention special workshops, sessions or seminars.  We cannot always use this newsletter to advertise these so we are looking at creating an area on our website where members can find what they are looking for.  So if you are in the business and would like to become a recommended ATC sport practitioner, please reply to this email with details of your practice (location, rates, specialisation, etc.).
