20 Mar '15: New ATC Club House
Published by ATC Multisport on Fri, 20 Mar 2015New ATC Home in Green Point
EXCITING NEWS:
ATC Multisport has a new home in the heart of Cape Town’s Green Lung!
Going forward we will share premises with the Green Point Cricket Club (GPCC) in Vlei Road, right opposite the entrance to the athletics stadium. This venue lends itself perfectly to club training sessions, socials, information evenings with multisport experts and more. It includes the following facilities:
o Ample off-street Parking
o Showers and Changing Rooms
o Up and Down-Stairs Bar and Food Service
o 400 metres of Manicured Lawn for our ever popular Track Running session. (OK, so it’s 398m but who’s counting?)
We would like to thank key members of ATC and GPCC who have worked hard over the last couple weeks to make this happen.
We will launch our new home officially in mid-April at the 2015 ATC AGM. But we just can’t wait until then! So we will start using the facility for our track session from next Tuesday, 24 March. We will also have an ATC Office Evening on Tuesday so please come along and collect your gear and licenses ahead of the Two Oceans runs.
In fact the ATC Mobile Office will slowly but surely become somewhat stationary as we put the Colt to pasture on greener fields. We will be using the GPCC more frequently for our training sessions going forward so our office will also be available more often. If you have a Nespresso machine lying around, let us know so we can keep the cyclists happy as we prepare to use the venue as a starting point for our rides too! J
The final date for the “official opening” and AGM will be announced soon. In the meantime, please join us there from Tuesday onwards for our track session. An aerial map, pin-pointing the GPCC, is attached.
RESULTS:
We apologise if we have omitted to mention your result at last week’s WarmWater Weekend or AfricanX. We are still waiting for the official results and will include these with the next newsletter.
TRAINING THIS WEEKEND:
RUN: Please note that tomorrow’s Two Oceans Training Run will start at 06:30 (not 06:00 as per the previous mail) from P4, which is right next to the UCT Rugby Fields. There is an aerial photograph of the start location and a description of the planned route on the ATC Training Page.
BIKE: Tomorrow (Saturday) morning we will do an easy 2 to 3 hour ride, starting from Vida Camps Bay at 07:00.
SWIM: This morning was the last Friday morning Canal Swim for this season. There will be NO SWIM for the Next TWO WEEKS due to Ironman and Two Oceans. Thereafter we will swim on Saturday afternoons at 16:00.

This will also give us time to allocate and use the free entries before 14 April, when ALL entries close. We Dare You to TRI!
