This traditional run from Green Market Square to the top of each of the three famous peaks above the City, Devil’s Peak, Maclear’s Beacon and Lion’s Head, is about 50 Kms long. Runners return to Green Market Square after summiting each peak, before setting off for the next one.
Julika Pahl won the ladies’ race and set a new record! Pieter Calitz was the 1st Vet (2nd overall), Ian Metcalfe was 4th overall, followed by Russell Lund in 5th (2nd Vet).
This year the event coincided with the Rugby World Cup Final, which prompted some runners (not the trio with 4 Hour + time split for Lion’s Head below) to stop after the second peak, watch the game and then proceeded on the last leg. They were rewarded with a great game and win though.
