Hermanus
It was a busy, fun and tiring long weekend in Hermanus with the Walkerbay Xtreme with various events on land and in the sea. Bradley Weiss and Vicky Van Der Merwe won the Walkerbay Extreme 6, which consisted of: A 1 Mile Sprint, a 27 Km MTB Challenge, a Swim-Run-Jump, a Sprint Triathlon, a 2.5 Km Sea Swim and a 17 Km Trail Run. Linda Detering was second in this competition.
Rohan Meyer was third in the Windsor Marine Mile Sprint with Vicky and Linda first and second under the ladies.
In the Valley Xtreme 27 Km MTB Challenge, Vicky finished second under the ladies with Linda in third.
Rudolf Visser won the Sea & Sand Xtreme, which is a unique Swim-Run-Jump event that involves swimming, running and jumping off a 18m high cliff. Linda was second under the ladies and Vicky third.
In the Xtremely popular, to us anyway, Sprint Triathlon, John-Pierre Weideman (6th o/all) was the first Junior followed by Jaco Wolstenholme (12th o/all) in second. Vicky won this event followed by Alexandria Antonakis and Linda in third.
The Open Water Swim was a 2.5 Km swim from the new harbour to the old. Rudolf Visser won the Skins category.
In the Mountain Bike Triathlon, Vicky was the 1st lady, followed by Robyn Williams in second and Michaela Beaton (1st Junior) in third.
Vicky rounded off a very productive weekend by winning the 17 Km Trail Run.
