This is just a quick update to let you know of the planned long ride this weekend and training plans for the “mini silly season” coming up.
NEWS:
Summer Sunset Team Time Trial:
We have published final team results and individual lap times! The top 20 individual lap times are shown at the bottom of this blog. The complete list is very long so this can be found on the events page at:

ASA Running Licenses:
Please make every effort to collect your ASA running license before next week’s Two Oceans Ultra and Half. We will be at the container this (Thursday) evening from 17:30 till 18:00, next Tuesday morning and next Wednesday evening. The numbers are also available at the Canal Swim on Friday mornings.
WPTA SGM:
Licensed Triathletes should have received a notification from WP Triathlon that a Special General Meeting (SGM) has been scheduled for Wednesday 6 Aril 2016. Please let us know if you did not receive it so we can pass it on.
Member Personal News:
Congratulations to Donovan and Shannon Stoop on the birth of their baby daughter, Sadie Rose, yesterday!
RESULTS:
ATC’ers posted some great results at the West Coast Warm Water Weekend! We are just awaiting final results from the organisers and will feed back next week.
Vivienne Williams was 4th overall and first in her age group at the Midlands Ultra Triathlon, held at the Midmar dam last week. Congratulations Viv!
Dawood Goeiman was 3rd (Boys u/20) in the 3000m Steeplechase at the WP Athletics Junior Track and Field Championships! Dawood was also accepted into the University of Stellenbosch and will study there to become a teacher. All Track & Field results can be viewed at this link: www.trackandfield.co.za
TRAINING THIS WEEK: Details here...
SWIM: The Canal Swim will be on Friday morning at 06:00. Next week, on Good Friday, we will swim at 07:00.
BIKE: This Saturday we will do a long ride from the Point Virgin Active to Stellenbosch, make a quick stop at the Caveman Café and return to the Point for a 140 kilometre ride. The Ironman group will then do a loop to Hout Bay and back to complete 180 Kilometres. The ride will be supported by the ATC / Embark Ranger and riders will be asked to contribute R50 to cover expenses. All riders are welcome to join.
RUN: Today (Thursday), we will do a club run from the Green Point Cricket Club at 18:00. We will run through the Park and along the Promenade for an hour. You can also collect your ASA license from the container this afternoon from 17:30 onwards.
Next week, we will still have our two track sessions, on Tuesday morning at 06:00 and Wednesday afternoon at 18:00.
Easter Weekend
Apart from the swim on Good Friday, we will not have any other club training sessions during Easter Weekend.

The Cape Epic finishes at Meerendal on Sunday and there are some trail runs happening, which you can do while waiting for the riders to come in. Good luck to the riders for the final three days.
On Saturday is the Ravensmead 15K run from Florida Park (near Tygerberg Hospital) and on Monday is the Top Form 10K, taking place at the Turfhall Park in Athlone.
Good luck to all the Triathletes heading for East London to take part in the Triathlon SA National Triathlon Championships on Sunday!
On Monday, Human Rights Day, there is an open water swim in Camps Bay, starting at 10:00. Distances on offer are 800 metres, 1 mile and 3 miles.
FUTURE EVENTS:
Durbanville Triathlon:
The Durbanville Triathlon is back on schedule for the 16th of April! This road bike event will offer Standard and Sprint distances and will take place on Phisantekraal farm. More details on: http://www.iqela-events.co.za/durbanville-tri/durbanville-tri-info.html
Casting for a Commercial:
The Casting Studio is doing an urgent casting for a commercial, today (Thursday) 16:30 to 18:30. They are looking for Male and Female Long distance Runners, aged between 25 and 40, of Asian, Indian and Cape Malay (Coloured) ethnicity. Please contact: alanacastingstudio@gmail.com
