                                                                                        ATC Sunset Team Time Trial - 8 October '25 - PROVISIONAL

The provisional date for our 2025 event is 8 October.  The date will be confirmed as soon as approved by WP Athletics.

 

 
Each team will consist of 4 runners, and each runner will run 3 Kilometres.  The 3 Km lap will take in the stadium surrounds, pedestrian and cycle paths, and the Green Point Urban Park.
The event will be capped at 120 teams (500 runners).
Th event will be hosted at the Green Point Cricket Club (GPCC), on the corner of Vlei and Fritz Sonneburg Roads, Green Point.  Refreshments will be for sale in the club house.  Clubs are also welcome to erect their gazebos on the field.

DETAILED INFORMATION

Venue:  Green Point Athletics Stadium (TBC), on the corner of Vlei and Fritz Sonneberg Roads.
Parking:  P4 and surrounding roads areas in the Stadium precinct.
 
Start Time:  18:15
Race Cut-off:  19:45 (1h30)
Prize Giving:  20:15
Entry Fee:   R 50 per runner (R 200 per team).  Junior & Grand Master Entry Fees are R15 per Runner (R60 per Team)
Late Entries:  Will be accepted on the day providing that there are still slots available. 
Registration:  Regsitration will be inside the stadium from 16:30 till 17:45
Refreshment:  There will be one refreshment station, in the transition area.  Coke and water will be provided as each runner finishes.
Medical backup services will be provided.
Toilets will be available inside the stdium.
There will be a tog bag area.

FORMAT
This event is a 4 x 3 Km Team Time Trial run in relay format.  Each team consists of 4 runners.  Each runner will run a 3Km lap.
The lap starts on the GPCC Field, runs past the new athletics stadium, around the golf course, through the Green Point Urban Park and back to the field.

TEAM CATEGORIES & PRIZES

The winning team in each category will receive a floating trophy and prize money or product.
 
Club Teams are made up of 4 licensed runners of any age from the same club.  To be eligible for prize money and the floating club trophy, runners must run in club colours, wear ASA numbers, in accordance ith ASA rules, and the team category tags.  Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams in the following Club Categories:
Open (Men’s) – Teams consisting of three or more males. Any Age.
Ladies - Teams consisting of four ladies.  Any Age.
Mixed - Teams consisting of at least two ladies.  Any Age.
 
Corporate Teams consist of unlicensed runners or licensed runners from different clubs.   Temporary licenses will not be required for this event but there will be no prizes in the Corporate Categories:
Open (Men’s) – Teams consisting of three or more males. Any Age.
Ladies - Teams consisting of four ladies.  Any Age.
Mixed - Teams consisting of at least two ladies.  Any Age.
 
Veteran Teams are made up of licensed runners ages 40 and over.  Runners do not have to belong to the same club but have to be licensed and wear license numbers in accordance with ASA Rules.  The winning Vet’s team in each of the following categories will receive a prize:
Open (Men’s) – Teams consisting of three or more males. All over 40.
Ladies - Teams consisting of four ladies.  All over 40.
Mixed - Teams consisting of at least two ladies.  All over 40.
 
Junior Teams are made up of runners between the ages of 15-19.  Runners do not have to belong to the same club or school.  Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams in the following Junior Categories:
Boys – Teams consisting of three or more males between the ages of 15 and 19.
Ladies – Teams consisting of four ladies between the ages of 15 and 19. 
 
Masters Teams are made up of runners over the age of 50.  Runners do not have to belong to the same club but have to be licensed and wear license numbers in accordance with ASA Rules.  The first Masters team, of any combination, will receive a prize.
 
Grand Master Teams are made up of runners over the age of 60.  Runners do not have to belong to the same club but have to be licensed and wear license numbers in accordance with ASA Rules.  The first Masters team, of any combination, will receive a prize.
 
Kids Teams are made up of runners under 14.  Runners do not have to belong to the same club.  The first two Kids teams, of any combination, will receive a prize.
 
ALL Finishers will receive a special medal. 
 

RULES

Rules:

1. The race will be run in accordance with the rules of ASA and WPA.
2. Participants must be  8 years or older on the day of the race.
3. To be eligible for Club team prizes and the Club trophy:  Teams must consist of licensed runners from the same club ; Runners must wear club colours; 2017 ASA Numbers must be worn on the front and back of the vest.  The SS TTT race number must be worn in front covering the ASA number but not the ASA Bib sponsor logos.
4. All traffic officers and marshals must be obeyed.
5. Athletes may enter and compete for more than one team but  only one of the teams will be eligible for a prize.  (The second team they compete for will not be eligible for prizes)
6. For safety reasons the use of personal music players  whilst racing is strictly prohibited.  Any person using such device may be disqualified and shall not be eligible for individual or team prizes.
7. The Winning Team in each licensed category will  receive prizes.
8. Mixed Teams must consist of at least 2 ladies.  Teams with 3 or more males will compete in the Men’s Category.
9. Ladies Teams  must consist of 4 Females.
10. All runners in Vets Teams must be over the age of 40 on the day of the event.  All runners in Master Teams must be over the age of 50 on the day of the event.  All runners in Grand Master Teams must be over the age of 60 on the day of the event.
11. Mixed Junior teams will compete in the Junior Boys category.
12. There will be NO prizes for 2nd and 3rd placed teams in any category.
13. The race organisers reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.
14. Kilometre markers will be placed at each kilometre mark.
15. No littering will be allowed anywhere along the route.
16. No personal seconding will be permitted, except at the official refreshment station.
17. The Water / Coke station will be in the transition area.
18. The entry fee is non-refundable.
19.  The cut-off time for the race is 1 hour 30 minutes.  All 4 runners must complete the race within this time.
20. An entry card and / or category tag must be in the athlete’s possession during the race.
21. Athletes must run with the baton and / or timing chip provided.  This  must be handed from one runner to the next.

2. I understand that participation in this race is on my own risk and that ARIA Property Group, ATC Multisport, Atlantic Triathlon Club (ATC), ATC Running, ATC Cycling, ATC Swimming, Western Province Athletics, Green Point Cricket Club, their employees, committee members and associates, will not be held liable for any illness, injury, death or loss of property.

3. I am healthy and have no known medical conditions that could prevent me from participation in sporting activities.

4. I indemnify ATC Multisport, its partners, associates and affiliates, against all and any action of whatever nature, which may arise out of my participation in any activities, training sessions or events organised or promoted by ATC Multisport.

5. I authorise ATC Multisport Club to use my personal details in order that I may be informed of ATC-related activities.

6. I understand that ATC is affiliated to various National and Regional Sporting Bodies, and I agree to be bound by their terms of these memberships and affiliations.

7.  Should the event be cancelled for reason beyond the control of ATC, the entry fee will be non-refundable.

8. Should entrants withdraw, the entry fee will be non-refundable.  Entries can be substituted at Registration.
